I have always understood hypertext as a link on a computer, where one clicks and is redirected to the source of that "link." However, in the reading I learned it does not have to be specifically just the type on computers. It provides a certain level of interactiveness between the writer and the reader. It also extends that interactivity between content and different forms of media as well.
